Travelling to Magnetic Island

Take a 20-minute ferry ride with the regular passenger service, SeaLink, from Breakwater Terminal (2 Sir Leslie Thiess Dr, Townsville City QLD 4810).

You can also take your vehicle to the island (≈40 minutes) with Magnetic Island Ferries (39 Ross Street, South Townsville, QLD 4810).

Both services arrive at / depart from Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island and operate daily – check their websites for up-to-date timetables and pricing.

Getting to Island Adventure Holiday House

Car: It’s about a 10-minute drive to the house from the Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal. Car parking is available in the garage (access from inside, fits up to a medium car), on the driveway, or parallel on the street outside the house. Please do not park on the lawn.

Bus: The public bus service (Route 250) departs directly from the terminal and stops at Picnic Bay, within easy walking distance to the house.

Taxi/Uber: Taxis and Ubers are available, although best to book ahead as supply is limited.

Vehicle Hire: Car and moped/scooter hire is available from Nelly Bay, or hire from Tropical Palms Resort & 4WD Hire, around the corner from the house.

Walk: If you’re up for some exercise, it’s a scenic one-hour walk between Nelly Bay and Picnic Bay.
